We're back!!!!!!
Welcome back y'all. Today we are dropping our bouy back in the creek with some tweaks to it so hopefully it won't leak this time around. Wish us luck, and we will update if it worked tomorrow!!πthe bridge we walk across is under water
The Results...
The moment that we have all been waiting for, the second test to see if the buoy was able to withstand a whole 24 hours in the creek without any leaks or water getting it it. The results that came out of this buoy test are amazing! We extracted the buoy from the creek without any problems and when we opened it to check if there was any water that might have gotten inside, there was none. Being the first group to create a buoy without it leaking means that our first part of the project is complete and we will be able to take it a step further! I am so proud of the hard work that my fellow environmental scientists have put forth and now we have done it, get ready to do it again with a transmitter inside of the buoy this time!!!

Spring break!!
Woohoo the week that we have all been waiting for! To our students that have been helping with the project thank you, now we know what to fix on the buoy when we get back to school. When we return to school we will be working hard to try to create a buoy that doesn't leak and we will continue to send messages through the antennas. Have a fun spring break and see y'all when we get back!!!!!!π

Visit with Mozilla
Today we are having an after school meeting with Geoff, who is a Mozilla representative. We are going over the time-line for this semester and we have to have a meeting between the new and old students. The discussions between the groups of students are about how we will be moving forward in the project, we will be continuing the water monitoring system and we will also be adding a new addition to the monitoring system, we will be testing the oxygen levels in the creek behind our high school. So this semester students are taking this project a step further and adding new additions to our water buoy and testing new levels in the creek. Tomorrow we will be testing the buoy for the first time to see if it will need any repairs or to make changes if needed. Thanks for checking us out, stay tuned in for more news!!!
